PORTRAIT 4 - THE SEARCH FOR IDENTITIES

Explores the search for identities among various Nigerian peoples, though the myriads of myths, creation stories, legends of origin, traditions of migration etc. Historical interpretation of these myths and legends will always provide room for controversy, but they prove one thing: that in the search for identity to define who they are, each group finds relationships over time with different neighbours. No group was isolated and the programme features different manifestations – political, cultural, totem, ritual etc – of such inter-relationships.
